Dr. Avi Karsenty, chair of the Applied Physics/Electro-Optics Engineering Department and head of JCT's Nanotechnology Center for Research and Education, was invited to deliver a seminar at MIT's Microsystems Technology Laboratory (MTL). Dr. Karsenty, an expert in the field of silicon photonics, discussed his research on the development of nanoscale silicon-based electro-optical coupled devices for use in inter-block optical communication. The seminar has since led to fruitful collaboration between researchers from both institutions, including the publication of several papers.
